This week’s “Featured Photoblog” is Jen Rinaldi Photography! The reason I wanted to highlight her photoblog is because it shows us how different photoblogs can do different things. Jen uses the photoblog to increase her web presence as a photographer, therefore increasing her exposure as an authoritative figure for photography in her area. She also seems to be on a good path to getting maximum exposure by linking to all of the places where you can find more of her work. In her photoblog, she shows images from clients, personal work, and personal life. This is good for her line of business as “personality sells”. She seems to have the right personality for doing what she does.
Follow these simple guidelines and you’ll get noticed too.
- Show your work!
- Show your work!
- Show your work!
Photography Book Club:
In continuance with the Your Photo Tips Book Club this month (it’s easier to do it monthly, no?) we’ll be reading and reviewing Lee Varis’ book Skin:The Complete Guide to Digitally Lighting, Photographing, and Retouching Faces and Bodies. This is a book I’ve been wanting to read for years and just never got around to ordering (shame on my procrastination). You can get the book at Amazon right now for only $26.39 right here.
In photoblogosphere news this week:
Photo Attorney reminds us on the importance of registering our images before an infringement takes place or within three months of first publishing it.
Samer Farha is embarking on a two month trip around the world and sharing his photographs and writings about the journey in his new blog Perambulare where you can read his introduction. I’ll be keeping my eye on this as it develops, it should be interesting reading and viewing!
Over at Lens Culture Weblog they pose the question Can a photograph help sustain the planet? in conjunction with the 2008 Prix Pictet Award in Photography. I’m always glad to see photographers utilize their talent to help a worthy cause.
In Your Photo Tips news:
The website is growing by leaps and bounds these past few months and I wanted to give all of you a big Thank You! While the readership rss has been steadily climbing, the hits coming from various social networking sites are really beginning to climb as well. Let’s keep up the great work by stumbling articles and adding the site to your favorite links. Don’t forget, if you have a photography related website you can submit it to the Photography Directory! Your participation (and this goes for any website really) is why I continue to do my best to bring you tips on photography and point you in the direction of other notable photography related content. So again, Thank You!
Now, here are some really great images (once again) from our readers who post images in the Your Photo Tips.com Flickr Group. Enjoy!
