Earlier we asked our readers in the Your Photo Tips.com Flickr Group to give us some of their best one sentence photography tips and we had a great response! For the next few weeks I’ll be elaborating, in my own words, what those photo tips mean to me and how they can help you become a better photographer. So if you missed the original post you can find it at 16 Quick Tips For New Photographers.
Because this will be an ongoing series this will be where I tell you to bookmark the website or subscribe to our feed so you don’t miss the upcoming posts!

f8 and be there
While I don’t think anyone truly knows where the old saying comes from it has been a staple in the photojournalism world since the caveman*.
While the saying may have been used by photojournalists it is not to be ignored by anyone with a camera. Quite simply you wouldn’t have gotten that wonderful, awe inspiring, award winning image if you weren’t there to begin with. You have to be at the right place at the right time.
That means you need to stop reading this blog right now grab your camera and hit the streets/woods/beach and get that shot!

*It’s unsubstantiated at this time but I do believe that cavemen often referred to their paintbrushes as f8’s (pronounced ungha ungh).
