We've rented from a local camera shop here in Denver with a lot of success. Whenever we need an extra lens or one that we don't have, we head on down. It's also a great way of trying things out before you buy.

Rentglass.com is also one I've had good experiences with. Upon the move to Denver, there is a camera and gear rental shop with very competitive prices on gear, and no waiting, so if I want to try a lens before buying it, that is now my go-to place! Not sure it will help you, but the experience of renting gear is always a little unsettling at first. Once you realize that gear is just gear and as long as it works, that's all that matters - it's a no brainer (especially if you are on a budget...)

I usually rent from LensRental.com for my Canon needs and have excellent service. Pricing is very competitive and service is prompt. A great way to use some serious glass without buying it.

i rent from Dallas Camera quite a bit. not sure where in the country you are from (thought i'd read Texas somewhere, but could be making that up) but they are pretty top notch.

like most rental house people, they don't go out of their way to be friendly (although they usually are to me), but they do go out of their way to make sure you have the right gear for the job.

I have rented from http://www.lensrentals.com/ a couple of times. Both times got outstanding service. Lenses arrived on time and came packed in a reuseable shipping container with a return shipping label. Once my time period was up, just packed the lenses back up and dropped them off to the nearest Fedex or Kinko's.

Lenses were in perfect condition. I would never had guessed they were used. I highly reccommend them.

I rented lenses from www.lensprotogo.com for a trip to Yellowstone a few months ago. The selection and service was outstanding. You can rent directly from their website, or give them a call on the phone. I wanted to make sure I got the lenses for a very specific time period, so I called to make sure and got great personalized service. The lenses arrived on time, well packed, and in perfect working condition. They also rent cameras and other gear. If I need to rent lenses again in the future, that's who I'm calling.

I've rented equipment from Borrowlenses.com (camera body, flash, 3 or so lenses) and have been very pleased with the efficiency and quality of their service. I plan on using them again for sure.
