Here’s a great video on keywording images in Lightroom 2 courtesy The Digital Photography Connection.

In the Photoblogosphere:

Keeping it simple is a great way to get better results out of your wildlife photography. So if you shoot birds and other animals (with a camera) then this little tip would be of some great use.

Over at Beyond Obvious Paul discusses The three key elements of good photographs. Solid stuff.

Many people have been super excited about Joe McNally’s latest book “The Hot Shoe Diaries” and with good reason. On his own blog Joe answers some questions from his readers. Wonder if any of your questions were answered? I love Joe’s sense of humor.

[EV +/-] Exposure Compensation has a wonderful write up on highly acclaimed photographer Mark Cohen. I truly love his work and only wish there were more of his stuff around.

Our crazy creative friends at Photojojo are always finding more ways for us to get the most out of photography. How about 12 Ways to Use Your Camera as a Tool? I found it pretty funny that I already do most of these things with my camera phone. I always have it handy!

In the Photopodcastosphere:

The Candid Frame has a wonderful interview with Miriam Romais. I really enjoyed listening to this one and I’m betting you will as well. Miriam is the executive director of En Foco, a non profit organization that supports contemporary fine art and documentary photographers of Latino, African, Asian and Native American descent.

Chris Marquardt of Tips From The Top Floor has started a new photography podcast. The difference? This one’s daily!

I’ve been using my iPhone camera like crazy ever since I finally joined the uber hip and got an iPhone. So I really enjoyed reading this article by Ray at Photodoto on iPhone/iPod Photo Apps. I really need to start reviewing the ones I’ve been using for you guys.

For newbies:

Sometimes as we fumble our way around the internet it’s hard to keep up with where we’ve been and bookmarking and all of that stuff so we can return to some of the sites we truly love (like this one!). Good thing Kristi over at Kikolani did a complete rundown of RSS feeds for you guys. If you don’t know what RSS is then you absolutely need to read that article. Then you should subscribe to Kristi’s blog. Yep, you should subscribe to this website as well, I mean for the small handful that aren’t subscribed already that is. But you knew that already, right?

In YourPhotoTips news:

The big news is, of course, our giveaway! That’s right, we’re giving away a camera in the Show us what you’ve learned giveaway! It’s super easy to enter just don’t forget to send an email to giveaway[at]yourphototips.com to ensure that I get your entry. So get to linking!

Also, we’re reading National Geographic: The Ultimate Field Guide to Landscape Photography (National Geographic Photography Field Guides) for our April Photography Book Club. I think I get my copy in the mail later today and I can’t wait. Get your copy today and send in your review before the end of the month.

Everyone in the Flickr Group has been doing a great job. Here are some images to prove it. Enjoy!

  • Some ot the RSS feeds on Kristi's list might actualy be pretty useful even for intermediate photographers. Probably everyone has some basic stuff that they missed for some reason and this might be a great way to make up for that.
  • I am heading over to Kikolani's straight away, this lady needs checking out, that's for sure! After her I'm checking out Joe McNally. Thanks for the links.
