Weekend Perusing: FL-106

Discovered Art

FL-106

FL-106

FL-106 is a pinhole image made with a camera obscura by artist and photographer Marcia Treiger at $175 for a 16×20. Very cool.

Photocontest

Lensculture just announced a stellar jury selection for their International Exposure Awards. Check it and enter.

In the Photoblogosphere

Great set of a wedding dress fashion shoot by ProPhotoNut. Great inspiration if you’re a wedding photographer.

Sometimes it’s just fun to see another photographer’s full processing techniques. Justin Korn shows us a day in the life of a photo.

VirtualPhotographyStudio has a great article on 8 sites to create something new with your photos. Admittedly, I hadn’t heard of half of these. Pretty cool stuff.

Using Flickr and Twitter? Antoine let’s us in on the “secret” URL shortner already imbedded in your Flickr image source codes.

Photocritic has a great post on 10 Tips for Self-Portraits. I haven’t updated mine in a while so perhaps I’ll excersize these tips myself. You should too.

Post Production

Love Photoshop? Love it enought to put on your fridge? I think I do.

Lightroom for Digital Photographers has a great tutorial for importing and managing both RAW and JPEG images.

Photo Gear

Photoinduced is giving away a couple of gorillapods. You don’t have one already? You know where to go now.

I have to admit that I’m hard pressed to get excited about “live-view” in a DSLR. Antoine dishes the dirt on how he got hooked on live-view and he makes a good case.

In Your Photo Tips News

We’ll be reviewing Within the Frame: The Journey of Photographic Vision (Voices That Matter) at the beginning of next week for the Photography Book Club. If you haven’t weighed in on the poll for the next book please do so because right now it’s a tie, and I hate breaking ties. The poll is on the sibebar of the blog.

Now it’s time to check out some great photography by our members of the Your Photo Tips Flickr Group.  Enjoy!

  • Photo FL-106 is great. This view of flowers looks like some cosmic event and is so monumental that makes me wanna go out and make some photos right away. Very inspiring and great looking picture. Where have you found it?
