Discovered Art
Volkswagon is a 20×20 fine art giclee by photographer Marcia Treiger for only $300. Love it.
Fine Art Photography
Brian Auer has his entire Guide to making Fine Art Prints available at Epic Edits. Check it out.
On a somewhat related topic, x= has a great article on understanding DPI which is very handy when it comes to printing output in digital photography.
New Photography Site
Looks like there is another attempt at creating a photography/digg hybrid. Have a look at Camera News 2.0 and tell me what you think.
Bert Stephani from Confessions of a Photographer has his new site up and it looks pretty darn good. Amazing what you can do with WordPress. Seriously.
Photo Legal
Even Annie Leibovitz isn’t immune to financial woes in these tough economic times. It’s really hard to consider that she may lose everything. I’m not talking about her houses or her money BTW. Who cares about that crap.
In the Photoblogosphere
Sometimes we just have to work within the limits that are given to us. Sometimes that means having to take portraits on bright sunny days.
Photography DIY
The folks at Photojojo never cease to amaze me. While we rarely talk about video here it’s an important aspects of many photographers arsenal and that will only grow as more and more photographers play with the video capabilities in new cameras. The problem so far? Unsteady and hard to watch video due to camera shake. Well have no fear as Photojojo has a DIY steadicam setup for almost any digital camera or camcorder. Total DIY pimpology.
Photo Gear
We kind of knew that Nikon was getting ready to announce their new line of DSLRs through all of the rumor mills. Well, they did. Here are the press releases for the new Nikon D3000 and the Nikon D300S. Leapfrog.
Post Processing
Lightroom For Dummies has a new video on synchronizing lightroom folders. Worth a look.
In Your Photo Tips news:
Last night, or this morning depending on your timezone, we announced The Art of Black and White Photography: Techniques for Creating Superb Images in a Digital Workflow as our new selection for the Photography Book Club. I’m pretty stoked because I love black and white photography and my printer is killer with black and whites. Go get your copy today. We’ll have the review at the end of the month as usual.
We have a new project in the works and it’s in BETA. If you’re interested in participating before we go live all you have to do is contact me at damien[at]yourphototips.com and let me know. You can just put BETA in the subject line or whatever. So far we’ve got some really great people and photographers of all levels participating and it’s turning out great. Don’t miss out.
Here are some great images from our Flickr Group members. Enjoy!

I really like the color balance in the VW photo. It just goes to show that there are beautiful shots waiting to be captured all around us.
VW’s are cool =D It’s too bad they aren’t as popular as they use to be, but I guess that just makes them more worth while for us VW Enthusiasts huh? hehe
Till then,
Jean
I love the shot, but $300 seems a bit steep for my budget. Yeah, VWs have definitely dwindled in popularity recently.
The Beetle photo definitely brings back old seaside memories. My current car is a new Beetle, an electic bluecoloured one, and you’ve just given me some inspiration to go and play.
This image of a Beetle Volkswagon by the ocean is a great example of new era of photoArt. Good green, white, blue colours.
Nice photography. Thanks for your blog.
