Seeing vs. Looking: Mike Small

This guest post is provided by Mike Small of Shutter Mike Photography.

Photography is important to me for so many reasons narrowing it down to just one is a challenge in itself. It is my creative release, my means of expression, my all consuming hobby and so much more. But the one reason above all others why photography is important to me it is because it has taught me how to see the world versus just look at the world.

With photography I take the time to observe; look at the details; discover what generally goes unnoticed; and appreciate the beauty in everything from a city skyline to a rusted old pickup.
