A Photographer’s Holiday Wish List

Everyone is sharing their holiday wish list so I thought I’d share mine. From one photographer to you.
As I was going through my Amazon Wish List I realized that I have over 650 items in there! It’s mostly books, but still. That’s a ton.
Here’s a super condensed look at what’s in there.
The Art of Printing Photos on Your Epson Printer

I’ve been doing a lot of printing with my Epson R2880 and loving every second of it. It’s not a photograph until it’s a print. I can always use a little tweaking and improving.
18.9 x 15.4 inch Paper Cutter / Trimmer With Wooden Base

File this one under “practical”. Our old one is not as functional as it could be and, like I said, I’ve been doing a lot of printing.
VisionMongers: Making a Life and a Living in Photography

My focus is in this realm and I NEED this book. It’s gotten so many rave reviews. If I don’t get it as a gift I will be purchasing it after the holidays. You’ll get a review I promise.
Joby GP3 Gorillapod SLR-Zoom Flexible Tripod for Digital SLR Cameras

It’s an upgrade. I want it. You know you do too.

I need a new point and shoot. No really. I do. I promise. I’ve been good. No really.
The Moment of Seeing: Minor White at the California School of Fine Arts

I’ve been a fan of Minor White’s for so long. I don’t own enough of his work.
Crumpler The Brazillion Dollar Home

Is it okay for a guy to say that a camera bag is sexy? Well…I’m saying it.
Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM Ultra Wide Angle Zoom Lens

What?! It’s a “Wish” list. No. I don’t NEED it. But it would be nice.

There’s just something about the Micro Four-Thirds format that really intrigues me.
That’s my list. Not too crazy I think.
What’s on your holiday wish list?
Apparently Amazon is pushing some Last Minute Holiday Deals on Camera Gear. I got this in my email right as I was about to post this so I figured some of you might be interested. It’s worth a look.

Well Damien, now I see my list was a lot more modest than yours….yours really is a “wish” list! (http://thediscerningphotographer.com/2009/12/06...)

Well…it IS a wish list. I wouldn't mind a few items from yours as well.
Yes you would be spoiled this Christmas to get all of these gifts. I'm sure you didn't mean you actually want to receive all of these though. I especially like that tripod. It looks so much more practical than your standard rigid tripod.
This is an Awesome wish list…I will be sharing and checking out these incredible gift ideas!
Good list. I like Canon Powershot.
useful list of equipment. thanks
It depends on the print run and duration the image will be used. There is a great software which can help you determine a fee. You are not signing over your copyright correct? You are simply licensing the images.
i love the tripod….yes i want it!
Photographers are typically on a never-ending quest for the perfect lighting. There’s a myriad of products out there to help with flash and portable lighting on the go. Some of the more fun and useful products come from the Gary Fong line of products. They help direct, diffuse, and soften flash lighting.
So did you happen to get any of these wish list items for Christmas Damien? Was Santa good to you?
Very useful list, so you do not need anything else…
I would like to have a better eye, because my photos are still not on professional level. I would like to use every occasion to make good pictures but it is not so easy… It would be a lot easier if God gave me more talent.
Actually, I did happen to get a copy of Vision Mongers so I will be able to get a review to you guys shortly on it. I've been super busy but we're gearing up to get the new year rolling soon.
This blog isnt really art, but there are loads of links on the right of the site page that gives you allot art, photography, and a little of them are fashion.
Did you get your gorilla pod? It make old tripods seem well bulky and useless…
The Joby flexible Tripod looks really cool even though it doesn't look like you can use it everywhere because they way the legs are made.
Now that we’re comfortably settled in the digital era, after talking with lots of students and fellow photographers, I’ve compiled a list of things that photographers might want to receive (or acquire for themselves) this holiday season.
