self portraitMy name is Damien Franco and I’m the main author and editor of Your Photo Tips. Your Photo Tips is a blog dedicated to helping new and advanced photographers learn how to take better pictures.

I studied various studio arts throughout high school and college finally settling on photography as my medium of choice. While in college I got a job at a portrait photography studio to explore the avenues of such a profession. In 2004 I, along with a partner, started a fine art portrait and wedding photography studio that did amazingly well with no initial funding to speak of.

I’ve always been the type of person that craves knowledge and I wanted to share my knowledge with the photographic community through Your Photo Tips. Along with tips and tutorials on photography like the rule of thirds I also love to bring you articles that can help you find creativity anywhere, including movies, and inform you of news in photography.

In an effort to truly make these photography tips and techniques helpful to the community I appreciate constant feedback. Please ask questions or suggest topics by using the contact form found on the contacts page. This is the best way to unsure that the website stays true to it’s name “Your Photo Tips”. There are, of course, other ways that you can contribute to the community. Join our Flickr group and see your images on the website, or contribute your own photo tip by being a guest author!

If you’d like to follow along with my personal photoblog A Cognitive State Of Mind I’d be happy to share my photography with you. I do also have a personal blog Damien Franco dot Com that I write on topics that don’t necessarily fit here.
