Reading is fundamental.  I think I read that somewhere (truthfully I probably heard it in a movie).

Reading books on photography techniques and theories will help you grow as a photographer by leaps and bounds.  It’s not just photography tips though.  You really want to absorb everything there is about photography.  Whether you plan on doing this for a living or not, if you really have that passion then every piece of information can help you overcome obstacles that seem to appear out of nowhere.

I’ve always felt that studying the principles behind photography equipment, techniques, and theories/essays on photographic art made me a more well rounded photographer, able to use fashion, art, portraiture, or whatever else is necessary to produce the image I’m creating.

It’s not just photography though.  It’s art in general.  Learning the  basics of design, composition, color, and much more translates into and influences every frame, image, snapshot, picture, or whatever.  The more you know…

Here’s the thing.  You get to decide what you want to learn about.  You get to decide which book is reviewed next.  That’s the little poll in the sidebar stage right.  You also get to participate.  You get to submit a review (current reading or past read books only) if you wish.  It doesn’t have to be a rave review, it just has to be honest.  It can be long or short.  You can send in a full review or leave a quick blurb in the comments after the review of the book.  Furthermore, if you wish to review a book on your own blog I’d be happy to post a link below.  It’s up to you completely.
